Vehicles with the optional remote keyless entry (RKE) system have the interior lamp module incorporated into the RKE receiver.
Refer to Receiver Replacement in Remote Keyless Entry.
Vehicles that are not equipped with RKE have a separate interior lamp module located next to the data link connector (DLC).
This vehicle uses a delayed interior lighting system.
The system functions as follows:
| • | The door ajar switch is designed into the door latch assembly . The dome lamps will illuminate when any door is opened. |
| • | The dome lamps will remain on for 20 seconds after the last door is closed. |
| • | The delay is canceled and the dome lamps will go out when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. |
| • | The illuminated entry function will not operate when the dome lamp defeat switch is in the OFF position. |
| • | The remote keyless entry (RKE) system turns the dome lamps off after a 40 second delay on UNLOCK and a 2 second delay on LOCK. |
