Does the system operate normally?

  1. Disconnect the connector at the headlamp leveling switch.
  2. Turn the ignition ON with the engine off.
  3. At the headlamp leveling switch connector, measure the voltage of CKT 39 (PNK).

Is the measurement equal to battery voltage?

B+

Go to Step 5

Repair the open CKT 39 (PNK) between the headlamp leveling switch and the GAUGES fuse.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Disconnect the connector at one of the headlamp leveling switch actuators.
  2. Turn the ignition ON with the engine off.
  3. At the headlamp leveling actuator connector, measure the voltage of CKT 39 (PNK).

Is the measurement equal to battery voltage?

B+

Repair the open CKT 39 (PNK) between splice S216 and splice S149.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON with the engine off.
  2. At one of the headlamp leveling connectors, measure the voltage between CKT 39 (PNK) and CKT 150 (BLK).

Did the measurement indicate battery voltage?

B+

Go to Step 9

Locate and repair the open CKT 150 (BLK).

Did you complete the repair?

Test for an open signal circuit, CKT 189 (DK GRN) between the headlamp leveling switch connector and the headlamp leveling actuator connector.

Was the signal circuit open?

Repair the open CKT 189 (DK GRN) between the headlamp leveling switch and splice S151.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the headlamp leveling switch.
