Power Steering Pump Rear Bracket Replacement 4.3L,5.0L and 5.7L Engines

1. Remove the power steering pump (1) from the vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
2. Remove the retaining nut (3) from the vehicle.
3. Remove the brace (2) from the back side of the pump.

1. Install the brace (2) to the back side of the pump (1).
2. Install the steering pump brace retaining nut (3) to the vehicle.

Tighten
Tighten the steering pump brace retaining nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

3. Install the steering pump to the vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

Power Steering Pump Rear Bracket Replacement 7.4L Engine

1. Remove the power steering pump (5) from the vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
2. Remove the retaining nut (4) from the vehicle.
3. Remove the retaining bolts (3) from the vehicle.
4. Remove the brace (2) from the back side of the pump (5).

1. Install the brace (2) to the back side of the pump (5).
2. Install the steering pump brace retaining nut (4) to the vehicle.

Tighten
Tighten the steering pump brace retaining nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

3. Install the steering pump brace retaining bolts (3) to the vehicle.

Tighten
Tighten the steering pump brace retaining bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the steering pump (5) to the vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
