Remove and install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Replacement in Wheels and Tires (Link disabled for test).

100 N·m (74 lb ft).

Bolt, Front Brake Caliper Guide Pin

Tighten:
35 N·m (26 lb ft).

Caliper Assembly, Front Brake

Tip:
Use a C-clamp to fully seat the caliper pistons in the bore.


Insert a rubber plug or equivalent into the brake caliper and hose in order to prevent loss and or contamination of the brake fluid.

For caliper disassembly. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Overhaul .

Tip:
Without disconnecting the hydraulic brake flexible hose, pivot the caliper upward and secure with mechanics wire.


The wear sensor equipped pad MUST be mounted inboard of the rotor with the leading edge of the sensor facing the rotor during wheel rotation, or at the top of the pad when installed in vehicle position.

Burnish the brake pads and rotor. Refer to Burnishing Pads and Rotors . (Link disabled for test)

Bolt, Brake Caliper Bracket

Tighten:
115 N·m (85 lb ft).

Bracket, Front Brake Caliper

Tip:
Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire or equivalent, whenever it is separated from its mount and the hydraulic brake hose is still connected.

Rotor, Front Brake

Tip:
To replace the brake rotor, remove the brake caliper and mounting bracket as an assembly.

Burnish the brake pads and rotor. Refer to Burnishing Pads and Rotors . (Link disabled for test)

Bolt, Front Brake Hose Fitting

Tighten:
50 N·m (37 lb ft).
