Compass Is Inoperative Or Missing - keywords cluster DIC IPC

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

A customer may complain that their compass is inoperative or missing on an Equinox with the 2LT package or the base model Torrent (non GXP). All Torrents' built after 10/01/07 will be built with a compass in the DIC.

Do not try to repair this concern. At this time engineering is aware of the concern, and is looking into a way to resolve this for service. This PI will be updated when new information becomes available.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
