Unable To Shift The Vehicle Out Of Park - keywords brake btsi inoperative interlock shifter signal trans transmission turn

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment that they are unable to shift the vehicle out of park. This concern may happen if the RT TRN/SIG fuse #11 in the IP fuse block is open. The wiring schematics in SI do not show this fuse in the "Shift Lock Control Schematics" This fuse will also cause the right rear turn signal to be inoperative and the indicator on the IP to flash fast, but the customer may not know this if they can not shift the vehicle out of park.

Check the RT TRN/SIG fuse #11 in the IP fuse block for being open, and replace as necessary. If the fuse was open, some additional diagnostics may be necessary to determine why the fuse was open.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
