Condition/Concern:

The "SERVICE STABILITRAK" message comes on in the DIC with ABS DTC's C0252 and/or C0460 with any symptom code. It may also be found that the C0252 and/or C0460 will not clear from the EBTCM or the code may reappear after a brief drive, even after using the Tech 2 and performing the "Steering Pos./Torque Sensor Cal" in the power steering control module. The C0252 and C0460 will not clear until the "Steering Pos./Torque Sensor Cal" in the power steering control module, and the "Steering Pos. Sensor Calibration" in the Electronic brake control module have been performed.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Prior to replacing any parts for this concern, follow the steps listed below in the order they are listed.

Use the Tech 2 when performing the following steps.

  1. Perform the "Steering Pos./Torque Sensor Cal" in the power steering control module.
  2. Perform the "Steering Pos. Sensor Calibration" in the Electronic brake control module.
  3. Clear all the codes.
  4. Test drive the vehicle.

Note: The "SERVICE STABILITRAK" message may stay on after the codes have been cleared. It may be necessary drive the vehicle before the message turns off. This allows the EBCM to verify that no malfunction exists, before turning OFF the message.
