Tick Noise in Instrument Panel (IP) Cluster (Replace IP Cluster)

Some customers may comment on a ticking noise in the indicator needle of any of the four gauges in the instrument panel (IP) cluster.

This condition may be caused by the stepper motor moving the needle of any of the four gauges.

1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Remove the old IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in SI.
3. Obtain a new IP cluster from an Electronic Service Center (ESC).
4. Install the new IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in SI.
5. Reprogram the new IP cluster with the latest calibration available through TIS.
6. Inform customers that the gauge indicator needles will no longer sweep from minimum to maximum then back to minimum position at vehicle start up.

Contact any Electronic Service Center (ESC) to obtain a new IP cluster.
