Condition
Some customers may comment that, intermittently, there may be no power steering assist and the "SERVICE POWER STEERING" warning message will appear. DTC C0460 71 and/or C0545 00 will be set. This condition may happen when the vehicle is first started and there is no power steering assist during the ignition key cycle. On the next ignition key cycle, the "SERVICE POWER STEERING" warning message will turn off and the steering assist will return.
Correction
DO NOT REPLACE THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE.
Reprogram the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) using TIS2WEB version 10.5 / 2006 or later.
