Removal Procedure

    Important: Record all preset radio stations.

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the screws from the battery cooling box. Remove the battery cover.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection In Engine Electrical.
  4. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
  5. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

  6. Object Number: 1232488  Size: SH
  7. Remove the nut holding the following fuse block connectors to the back of the I/P fuse block (4):
  8. • The body 68-way connector (1)
    • The I/P 68-way connector (2)
    • The I/P 24-way connector (3)

  9. Remove the bolt holding the fuse block into place.
  10. Remove the ground wire (1).
  11. Remove the fuse block.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the fuse block and attach the ground wire (1) and attach the bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the harness connectors to the back of the I/P fuse block (4).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the connectors to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  5. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  6. Connect the positive battery cable.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  10. Install the battery cooling box cover and install the screws.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  12. Set the radio stations to the preset selections.
