Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1256498 Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling or SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the trim from the center pillar.
  3. Remove the side impact sensor mounting bolts.
  4. Remove the side impact sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1256498 Size: SH
  1. Install the side impact sensor.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the side impact sensor mounting bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the side impact sensor mounting bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the trim on the center pillar.
  4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling or SIR Disabling and Enabling .
