Rear Wheel Opening Front Flare Replacement ZR1
Removal Procedure
Warning: When removing, handling or installing this component wear protective gloves. The sharp edges on the component may be very sharp and may cause injury.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Remove the butyl tape (2) from inside the rear wheel opening front flare.
Warning: Approved safety glasses and gloves should be worn when performing this procedure to reduce the chance of personal injury.
- Using a drill motor and a 5.5 mm (7/32 in) drill bit, drill the center of the rivets.
- Remove the two rivets (3) from the rear wheel opening front flare.
- Remove the four upper rear wheel opening front flare screws (1).
- Remove the rear wheel opening front flare (4) from the rear wheelhouse.
Installation Procedure
- Position the rear wheel opening front
flare (4) to the wheelhouse.
- Loosely install the four screws (1).
- Position and secure the two rivets (3) to the lower rocker molding.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Secure the four previously installed screws.
Tighten
5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Install new butyl tape (2) in the same area where the old butyl was removed from.
- Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Lower the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
