Rear Wheel Opening Front Flare Replacement ZR1

Removal Procedure

    Warning: When removing, handling or installing this component wear protective gloves. The sharp edges on the component may be very sharp and may cause injury.

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  3. Remove the butyl tape (2) from inside the rear wheel opening front flare.
  4. Warning: Approved safety glasses and gloves should be worn when performing this procedure to reduce the chance of personal injury.

  5. Using a drill motor and a 5.5 mm  (7/32 in) drill bit, drill the center of the rivets.
  6. Remove the two rivets (3) from the rear wheel opening front flare.
  7. Remove the four upper rear wheel opening front flare screws (1).
  8. Remove the rear wheel opening front flare (4) from the rear wheelhouse.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2119261  Size: SH
  1. Position the rear wheel opening front flare (4) to the wheelhouse.
  2. Loosely install the four screws (1).
  3. Position and secure the two rivets (3) to the lower rocker molding.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Secure the four previously installed screws.
  6. Tighten
    5 N·m (44 lb in).

  7. Install new butyl tape (2) in the same area where the old butyl was removed from.
  8. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  9. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
