Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning in the Preface section.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
Caution: Disc brake rotor protectors MUST be installed prior to tire and wheel assembly removal to avoid ceramic brake rotor damage due to contact between the tire and wheel assembly and the
rotor. If the ceramic brake rotor is damaged replacement may be required.
- Install the disc brake rotor protectors and remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Disconnect the disc brake pad wear sensor electrical connector (1).
- Release the disc brake pad wear sensor electrical connector from the bracket.
- Remove the disc brake pad wear sensor from the inboard disc brake pad and the brake caliper.
Installation Procedure
- Install the disc brake pad wear sensor electrical connector to the bracket.
- Install the disc brake pad wear sensor to the inboard disc brake pad and the brake caliper.
Ensure to allow for the increased distance from the wire harness brake caliper mounting point and the disc brake pad as the brake pad wears.
- Connect the disc brake pad wear sensor electrical connector (1).
- Install the tire and wheel assembly and remove the disc brake rotor protectors. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
