Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe and Hole Cover Installation 6.2L LS3


    Object Number: 1552485  Size: SH

    Note: Position the gasket O-ring seal (308) onto the nipple portion of the pipe.

  1. Install the seals onto the engine coolant air bleed pipe and covers.

  2. Object Number: 1559855  Size: SH
  3. Install the pipe (307) and gaskets (308).
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the bolts (309) and tighten to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  6. Object Number: 1408862  Size: SH

    Note: Production engines use a rivet-type plug at the top rear coolant passage of each cylinder head. If service of a leaking plug is required, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head from the engine to properly remove the plug prior to cover installation.

  7. Install the covers (313) and gaskets (308). Tighten the cover bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
  8. Install the bolts (312).

  1. Install the seals (1) onto the engine coolant air bleed pipe.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the pipes (1 and 2) and bolts (3) and tighten to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  1. Install the seals (308) onto the engine coolant air bleed pipe.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

    Note: Production engines use a rivet-type plug at the top rear coolant passage of each cylinder head. If service of a leaking plug is required, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head from the engine to properly remove the plug prior to cover installation.

  3. Install the pipe (307) and bolts (309). Tighten the bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
  4. Install the covers (313) and bolts (312). Tighten the bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
