Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe and Hole Cover Installation 6.2L LS3
Note: Position the gasket O-ring seal (308) onto the nipple portion of the pipe.
- Install the seals onto the engine coolant air bleed pipe and covers.
- Install the pipe (307) and gaskets (308).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the bolts (309) and tighten to
12 N·m (106 lb in).
Note: Production engines use a rivet-type plug at the top rear coolant passage of each cylinder head. If service of a leaking plug is required, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head from the engine to properly remove the plug prior
to cover installation.
- Install the covers (313) and gaskets (308). Tighten the cover bolts to
12 N·m (106 lb in).
- Install the bolts (312).

- Install the seals (1) onto the engine coolant
air bleed pipe.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the pipes (1 and 2) and bolts (3) and tighten to
12 N·m (106 lb in).

- Install the seals (308) onto
the engine coolant air bleed pipe.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Note: Production engines use a rivet-type plug at the top rear coolant passage of each cylinder head. If service of a leaking plug is required, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head from the engine to properly remove the plug prior
to cover installation.
- Install the pipe (307) and bolts (309). Tighten the bolts to
12 N·m (106 lb in).
- Install the covers (313) and bolts (312). Tighten the bolts to
12 N·m (106 lb in).
