This PI was superseded to update Recommendation/Instructions. Please discard PIC4347.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some owners of Corvette Z06 models may comment of a "Low Coolant" message in the DIC.

Recommendation/Instructions:

  1. Inspect the vehicles coolant level. If the level is within normal operating range and no leaks are found, disconnect both the positive and negative battery cable from the battery and touch together for several seconds. Reconnect the battery cables and evaluate. If the message has gone away, return the vehicle back to the customer. No further action is required.
  2. If the battery disconnect does not resolve the issue, then follow the procedures below.
  3. • Replace the HVAC Control Module with a new HVAC Control Module from SPO. Note: All service HVAC Control Modules come equipped with base model calibration. Z06 Corvette requires a different calibration. Proceed to step "B" below.
    • Re-program the HVAC control head with the latest calibration in TIS2WEB. Select calibration under "Operating Systems" labeled.
    • New software to address OAT update, low coolant sensor disable (Z06 only), and overall improved operation
    • Re-evaluate the customers concern.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
