Subject:Door Windows May Not Lower Below Belt Molding

Models:2005-2007 Chevrolet Corvette

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment that the drivers and/or passenger's door glass stop above the belt molding of the doors when lowering the glass. Other comments may be that the door glass does not index when opening or closing either door. Updated software has been developed for the Drivers and Passengers Door Modules to address this concern.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Important: The procedure below can only be performed 1 time on each door module. After the procedure below has been performed the option in the Tech 2 will no longer be offered. Again, if the option is NOT available in the Tech 2 and the Tech 2 has been updated to the latest version (either 27.004 or newer), the door module has the latest software version and no further action is needed.

  1. Update Tech2 to version 27.004
  2. Program each door module following the Tech 2 path below. Note: When programming Corvette door modules, build ALL Corvettes as a 2007 Model year using the Tech 2
  3. All 2005-2007 Corvette

Diagnostics > Select Model Year (2007) > Passenger Car > Select Make (Chevrolet) > Select Vehicle YB > Body > Drivers Door Module or Passenger Door Module Module Set Up > Select Recalibration.

  4. Re-normalize both the drivers and passenger door glass. Be sure to use the Tech 2 and monitor the door module data that will show the window has been normalized. Refer to SI document for the Normalization procedure. Be sure to verify the windows have been normalized using the Tech 2.

Note: Programming the door modules with the procedure above may cause the customer to loose door mirror personalization. Please advise the customer of this so they can reprogram their door mirrors.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
