Inoperative Power Folding Top Tonneau (Reset Tonneau Latch Actuator)

Some customers may comment on an inoperative power folding top, stating that the top will not latch.

This condition may occur while the customer is trying to close the power folding top and releases the folding top close switch before the top is completely closed. This may cause the power folding top to loose its reference positions.

Technicians are to use the following procedure to restore operation of the power folding top:

1. Hold the tonneau in the upright position.
2. While watching the power cinch mechanism, press and hold the switch on the tonneau latch in the closed position. Watch the power cinch mechanism as it retracts fully down and then cycles back up. Release the tonneau latch switch when the power cinch mechanism reaches the top of its cycle.
3. Release the tonneau. It can now be operated with the folding top control switch.
4. Hold the folding top control switch until the closing cycle is completed and the chime sounds to signal completion of the cycle. Release the folding top control switch after the chime is heard.
5. Instruct your customer to make sure they continue to press the folding top control open and close switch until the chime is heard that signals completion of the cycle.
