Subject:Rear Corners of Hood Lift at Engine Normal Operating Temperature

Models:2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 only



The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

It may be noticed after driving, the corners of the hood on a 2006 Corvette Z06 may rise. This may occur once the engine reaches normal operating temperatures. Performing the adjustments below will help this concern. It is important that the adjustments are performed after the vehicle engine has cooled down completely. A cold start is identified by a vehicle that has sat for at least 8 hours.

Recommendation/Instructions:

To correct this concern, please perform the adjustments below:

  1. Lower the rear corner bumpers all the way down under the hood.
  2. Adjust the latches so the hood is flush as possible along the fender edge.
  3. Once the hood is flush COLD, raise the bumper until they slightly touch the underside of the hood.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
