Chime Level Adjustment Procedure - keywords chime entertainment loud radio voume

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may state that the chime volume on their vehicle is too low or too loud. Customers with vehicle equipped with radio RPO (US8) or (US9) may want to adjust the chime volume to their preference. Please follow the procedure below.

To change the volume level, press and hold push-button 6 with the ignition on and the radio power off. The chime volume level will change from the 'normal' level to 'loud', and "Loud Chime Vol" will appear on the display. To change back to the default or 'normal' setting, press and hold push-button 6 again. The chime level will change from the 'Loud Chime Level' to 'normal', and 'normal Chime Level' will appear on the display. Each time the chime volume is changed, three chimes will sound as an example of the new volume selected.

Note: There currently is no option available to adjust the chime on vehicles equipped with a Navigation radio.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
