Oil Pan Removal F Car


    Object Number: 178477  Size: SH

    Important: The original oil pan gasket is retained and aligned to the oil pan by rivets. When installing a new gasket, it is not necessary to install new oil pan gasket rivets.

    DO NOT reuse the oil pan gasket. When installing the oil pan, install a NEW oil pan gasket.

    It is not necessary to remove the oil level sensor prior to oil pan removal. Remove the oil level sensor if service is required.

  1. Remove the left closeout cover and bolt.

  2. Object Number: 178480  Size: SH
  3. Remove the right closeout cover and bolt.

  4. Object Number: 178467  Size: SH
  5. Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan, if required.

  6. Object Number: 178558  Size: SH
  7. Remove the oil pan bolts.
  8. Remove the oil pan.

  9. Object Number: 384699  Size: SH

    Important: DO NOT allow foreign material to enter the oil passages of the oil pan, cap or cover the openings as required.

  10. Drill (3) out the oil pan retaining rivets (2), if required.
  11. Discard the gasket and rivets.

  12. Object Number: 178491  Size: SH
  13. Remove the oil pan baffle bolts and baffle, if required.

Oil Pan Removal Y Car


    Object Number: 178477  Size: SH

    Important: It is not necessary to remove the oil pan - lower - in order to remove the oil pan assembly.

    The original oil pan gasket is retained and aligned to the oil pan by rivets. When installing a new gasket, it is not necessary to install new oil pan gasket rivets.

    DO NOT reuse the oil pan gaskets. When installing the oil pan, install NEW oil pan gaskets.

  1. Remove the left closeout cover and bolt.

  2. Object Number: 178480  Size: SH
  3. Remove the right closeout cover and bolt.

  4. Object Number: 63114  Size: SH

    Important: It is not necessary to remove the oil level sensor prior to oil pan removal. Remove the oil level sensor if service is required.

  5. Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan, if required.

  6. Object Number: 414783  Size: SH

    Important: It is not necessary to remove the oil pan - lower - to remove the oil pan assembly.

  7. Remove the oil pan - lower - bolts (1-15), if required.

  8. Object Number: 414781  Size: SH
  9. Removal of the oil pan - lower - will not provide access to the crankshaft oil deflector, crankshaft, or other internal engine components.

  10. Object Number: 414785  Size: MH
  11. Separate the oil pan (1) - upper, gasket (2), oil pan (3) - lower, and bolts (4), if required.

  12. Object Number: 416764  Size: MH
  13. Remove the oil pan - upper - bolts.
  14. Remove the oil pan.

  15. Object Number: 384699  Size: SH

    Important: DO NOT allow foreign material to enter the oil passages of the oil pan. Cap or cover the openings as required.

    Use care not to gouge, score, or damage the oil pan sealing surface.

  16. Drill (3) out the oil pan gasket retaining rivets (2), if required.
  17. Remove the gasket (1) from the pan - upper.
  18. Discard the gasket and rivets.
