Service Column Lock Message DTC B2809 - keywords BCM DIC MIL program RPO service

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

A customer may experience a condition of "Service Column Lock Message" with DTC B2809 set in the Body Control Module (BCM).

A software anomaly in the BCM can cause this concern if the BCM is not programmed correctly. The following procedure should be performed with the Tech 2 scan tool to correct the concern.

1. Build the Scan Tool as the vehicle having a manual transmission (No matter what type of transmission is in the vehicle.)
2. Properly select the RPO options on the vehicle and make sure that RPO CJ2 and C60 are not selected at the same time.
3. Select "Saved Options" and exit programming.
4. Clear all Codes and shut the ignition off for 60 seconds.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
