Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the child restraint tether strap from the anchor plate, if the child restraint is installed.
  2. Reposition the rear compartment floor carpet to expose the anchor plate bolt.
  3. Remove the bolt and the anchor plate.

Installation Procedure

  1. Insert the anchor plate through the slit in the carpet.
  2. Align the anchor plate with the raised end forward.
  3. Start the bolt through the anchor plate into the hole in the floor reinforcement.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Insure the anchor plate does not turn while tightening the bolt.

  5. Tighten the child restraint tether anchor plate bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the child restraint tether anchor plate bolt to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  7. Reposition the carpet over the bolt.
  8. Install the child restraint tether, if the child restraint is installed.
