Diagnostic Aids

The clutch is noisy when the clutch is fully engaged. In some cases there might be improper pedal travel, faulty pilot bearing, driven disc or even the clutch hub binding on the gear spline.

Did you review the clutch symptom operations and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

  1. Inspect for a worn or damaged release bearing.
  2. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .

Is the release bearing worn or damaged?

Go to Step 3

System OK

Replace the release bearing assembly. Refer to Clutch Actuator Cylinder Replacement .

Is the release bearing still noisy?

Go to Step 4

System OK

Check for a worn or loose pilot bearing.

Is the pilot bearing worn or loose?

Go to Step 5

System OK

Replace the pilot bearing. Refer to Clutch Pilot Bearing Replacement .

Did you find and repair the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Diagnostic Aids

  1. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
  2. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
