Removal Procedure
- Remove the console. Refer
to
Console Replacement
in Instrument
Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove the passenger seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
in Seats.
- Remove the park brake lever boot nuts.
- Lift the park brake lever
slightly until it engages the first stop.
- Remove the park brake lever assembly mounting bolts.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the park brake switch.
- Position the park brake lever assembly to the rear of the vehicle.
- Remove the park brake switch.
Installation Procedure
- Install the park brake
switch to the park brake lever assembly.
- Position the park brake lever assembly to the driveline tunnel.
- Connect the electrical connector to the park brake switch.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the mounting bolts to the park brake lever assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the park brake lever assembly mounting bolts to 28 N·m
(21 lb ft)
- Position the park brake
lever assembly boot to the driveline tunnel.
- Install the park brake lever assembly boot nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the park brake lever assembly boot nuts to 10 N·m
(89 lb in)
- Install the passenger seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
in Seats.
- Install the console. Refer to
Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Release the park brake lever.
