Arming the Theft Deterrent System.

  1. Close all the vehicle doors.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

The SECURITY indicator turns OFF when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Remove the key from the ignition switch.

The SECURITY indicator remains OFF.

Open the driver door (Test may be preformed on the passenger door.)

The SECURITY indicator flashes for 10 minutes.

  1. Open the driver door.
  2. Press the driver power door LOCK button (Test may be preformed on the passenger door.)

OR

Press the LOCK button on the remote transmitter.

The SECURITY indicator stops flashing and remains ON continuously.

Close the driver door, passenger door, hatch/trunk and hood (export).

The SECURITY indicator turns OFF after approximately 10 seconds. The system is now armed.

Activating the Theft Deterrent System.

Perform any one of the following functions to activate an armed theft deterrent system and to simulate an illegal entry:

    • Use the power lock switch to unlock the driver door or the passenger door and open a door.
    • Use the inside lock lever to unlock the driver door or the passenger door and open a door.
    • Turn the courtesy light switch ON.
    • Turn the Park light switch ON.
    • Use the manual inside hatch release to unlock the hatch.
    • Open the hood (export only).

The theft deterrent system activates the following features depending upon selected personalized options to indicate vehicle intrusion:

    • The horn sounds.
    • The turn signals activate.
    • The fog lamps activate.
    • The backup lamps activate.

Disarming the Theft Deterrent System.

Use the key to UNLOCK the driver door or the passenger door.

The alarm disarms.

Press the UNLOCK button on the remote transmitter (passive switch OFF).

The alarm disarms.

Walk into range with the remote transmitter (passive switch ON).

The alarm disarms.

Turn ON the ignition switch with a valid PASS Key® code.

The alarm disarms.

Press the hatch release button on the remote transmitter.
