  1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release switch connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between ground and the fog lamp switch/rear compartment lid release switch terminal 1.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the voltage at terminal 1 of the switch.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0-14.0V

Check the F/TANKDR MiniFuse® #32 for an open circuit.

Is the fuse open?

Replace the F/TANKDR MiniFuse® #32.

Does the F/TANKDR MiniFuse® #32 immediately open when installed?

  1. Disconnect the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C2.
  2. Connect a DMM between connector C2 terminal D9 of the Body Control Module (BCM) and ground.
  3. Reconnect the rear compartment lid release switch connector.
  4. Press the rear compartment lid release switch button.
  5. Measure the available voltage at the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C2 terminal D9.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0-14.0V

  1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release switch connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between terminal 6 and terminal 1 of the fog lamp switch/rear compartment lid release switch.
  3. Depress the hatch release button and measure across the switch for continuity with the button depressed.

Is continuity present across the hatch release switch when the button is depressed?

  1. Disconnect the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1 terminal B9 and ground.

With the fused jumper connected, does the rear hatch open?

Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) and reprogram as needed.

  1. Remove the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39 from the instrument panel electrical center.
  2. Connect a DMM between the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1 terminal B9 and the CKT 1344 terminal inside the instrument panel electrical center which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.
  3. Measure CKT 1344 for continuity between the instrument panel electrical center CKT 1344 terminal and the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1 terminal B9.

Is CKT 1344 continuous between these two terminals?

Repair the open in CKT 1344.

Connect a fused jumper wire between the BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal inside the instrument panel electrical center which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.

With the fused jumper connected, does the rear hatch open?

  1. Open the rear hatch using the manual release system.
  2. Disconnect both RH/LH rear compartment lid lock release solenoids.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire between the instrument panel electrical center BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.
  4. Replace the HTCHTRK MiniFuse® #26.

Does the HTCHTRK MiniFuse® #26 immediately open when installed?

Repair a short to ground in CKT 383.

  1. Disconnect the fused jumper wire between the instrument panel electrical center BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal.
  2. Reconnect only the LH rear compartment lid lock release solenoid.
  3. Reconnect the fused jumper wire between the instrument panel electrical center BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.

Does the HTCHTRK MiniFuse® #26 immediately open when the fused jumper wire is reinstalled?

  1. Disconnect the fused jumper wire between the instrument panel electrical center BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal.
  2. Disconnect the LH rear compartment lid lock release solenoid.
  3. Reconnect only the RH rear compartment lid lock release solenoid.
  4. Reconnect the fused jumper wire between the instrument panel electrical center BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.

Does the HTCHTRK MiniFuse® #26 immediately open when the fused jumper wire is reinstalled?

Check the operation of each rear compartment lid lock release solenoid individually.

  1. Reconnect the LH rear compartment lid lock release solenoid.
  2. Connect the fused jumper wire between the instrument panel electrical center BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.
  3. Disconnect the LH rear compartment lid lock release solenoid.
  4. Disconnect the fused jumper wire between the instrument panel electrical center BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.
  5. Reconnect the RH rear compartment lid lock release solenoid.
  6. Reconnect the fused jumper wire between the instrument panel electrical center BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.

Do both of the rear compartment lid lock release solenoids operate properly when the fused jumper wire is installed?

  2. Connect a DMM between connector C2 terminal D9 of the Body Control Module (BCM) and ground.
  3. Reconnect the rear compartment lid release switch connector.
  4. Press the rear compartment lid release switch button.
  5. Measure the available voltage at the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C2 terminal D9.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0-14.0V

  1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release switch connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between terminal B and terminal D of the rear compartment lid/fuel tank filler door lock release switch.

  1. Disconnect the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1 terminal B9 and ground.

  2. Connect a DMM between the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1 terminal B9 and the CKT 1344 terminal inside the instrument panel electrical center which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.
  3. Measure CKT 1344 for continuity between the instrument panel electrical center CKT 1344 terminal and the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1 terminal B9.

Is CKT 1344 continuous between these two terminals?

  6. Reconnect the fused jumper wire between the instrument panel electrical center BATTERY CKT terminal and the CKT 383 terminal which is used for the HTCHTRK REL Micro Relay #39.

Do both of the rear compartment lid lock release solenoids operate properly when the fused jumper wire is installed?
