  1. Disconnect the fog lamp/rear compartment lid release switch connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between the fog lamp/rear compartment lid release switch connector terminal 7 and ground.
  3. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  4. Measure the voltage at the fog lamp/rear compartment lid release switch connector terminal 7.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0-14.0V

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between the fog lamp/rear compartment lid release switch connector terminal 8 and the instrument cluster connector terminal B5.
  3. Measure for continuity in CKT 717 between the instrument cluster connector and the fog lamp/rear compartment lid release switch connector.

Is continuity present in CKT 717?

Repair open in CKT 717.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Interior Lights Dimming System Check

  1. Reconnect the fog lamp/rear compartment lid release switch connector.
  2. Move the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  3. Connect a jumper wire (10 A) between the instrument cluster connector terminal B5 and ground.

Does the fog lamp/rear compartment lid release switch illumination lamp come ON?

Replace the instrument cluster.

Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Replace the fog lamp/rear compartment lid release switch illumination bulb.

Are the electronic traction suspension control switch and the instrument cluster illumination lamps inoperative?

  1. Reconnect the fog lamp switch connector.
  2. Move the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  3. Connect a jumper wire (10 A) between the instrument cluster connector terminal B5 and ground.

Does the fog lamp switch illumination lamp come ON?
