Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 179305  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the front stabilizer shaft bolts.
  3. Position the front stabilizer shaft downward.

  4. Object Number: 342481  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the fan motor connectors.
  6. Remove the wiring harness from the fan shroud.
  7. Remove the lower radiator hose.

  8. Object Number: 339969  Size: SH
  9. Remove the fan shroud from the radiator. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .

  10. Object Number: 342281  Size: SH
  11. Remove the fan from the motor.

  12. Object Number: 342295  Size: SH
  13. Remove the fan motor from the shroud.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 342295  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the fan motor to the shroud.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  3. Install the fan onto the fan motor.
  4. Install the fan retaining nut.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).

  6. Install the fan shroud to the radiator. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 342481  Size: SH
  8. Connect the fan motor connectors.
  9. Install the wiring harness onto the fan shrouds.
  10. Install the lower radiator hose.

  11. Object Number: 179305  Size: SH
  12. Reposition the front stabilizer shaft to the crossmember.
  13. Install the front stabilizer insulator clamp bolts.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  15. Lower the vehicle.
