Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 82062 Size: SH
  1. Remove the front floor kick-up panel. Refer to Kick-Up Panel Replacement - Front Floor in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the cover from the IP electrical center.
  3. Remove the HVAC CON (HVAC controls) MiniFuse® #27 from the IP electrical center.
  4. Remove the IP accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  5. Remove the screws retaining the HVAC control head.
  6. Pull the HVAC control assembly out from the IP center support bracket to access the electrical and vacuum connectors.

  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) from the HVAC control assembly .
  8. Disconnect the vacuum harness connectors (2) from the HVAC control assembly.
  9. Remove the HVAC control assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the HVAC control assembly to the vehicle.

    2. Object Number: 179748 Size: SH
  2. Connect the vacuum harness connectors (2) to the HVAC control assembly.
  3. Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the HVAC control assembly.

    4. Object Number: 82062 Size: SH
  4. Install the control head to the IP center support bracket.

    5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the HVAC control assembly retaining screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  6. Install the IP accessory trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  7. Install the HVAC CON (HVAC controls) MiniFuse® #27 to the IP electrical center.
  8. Install the cover to the IP electrical center.
  9. Install the front floor kick-up panel. Refer to Kick-Up Panel Replacement - Front Floor in Interior Trim.
