Blower Motor Runs High Speed Only <<CJ2>>

DEFINITION: Blower motor is always operating in the HIGH speed mode.

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Depress the mode control button until the UPPER position is displayed.
  3. Depress the blower speed control button until the fan speed is in the low position (one bar).
  4. Disconnect the blower motor connector.
  5. Connect the DMM between terminals A and B of the blower motor connector.
  6. Measure the available voltage between terminals A and B of the blower connector.

Is the measured voltage less than 6 volts?

Go to Step 3

  1. Reconnect the blower motor connector.
  2. Ignition switch in the ON position.
  3. Mode control button in the UPPER position.
  4. Fan speed is in the low position (one bar).

Is the blower motor running at high speed?

Go to Step 4

Replace the blower motor. Refer to Blower Motor and Fan Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to HVAC System Check

  1. Connect a DMM between terminal C of the blower motor control module connector and ground.
  2. Measure the available voltage at terminal C of the blower motor control module connector.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

4.0-5.0V

Go to Step 6

Replace the blower motor control module. Refer to Blower Motor Control Module Replacement .
