Front Seat Back Trim Replacement Sport Seat Insert Pillow

The insert pillow can be removed and installed without removing the seat. However, the seat is much easier to service removed from the vehicle.

1. Remove the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Power with Adjuster .



2. Unzip the zipper at the top of the insert pillow.
3. Undo the J strips at the bottom of the insert pillow.
4. Tip the side of the insert pillow outward to expose the two upper fir tree fasteners that attach the insert pillow to the seat frame.

Important: There are two size fir tree fasteners used. if the head of the fastener is 19 mm (0.75 in) it is possible to remove the insert pillow by slightly raising the fir tree fastener and then sliding the seatback cover tab and the insert pillow tab over the head of the fastener. If the head of the fir tree fastener is 25 mm (1 in) it is necessary to cut or chisel off the head of the fastener.

5. Determine the size of the fir tree fastener heads.
6. Raise or remove the upper fir tree fasteners and detach the seatback cover and the insert pillow from the seat frame.
7. Remove the insert pillow.
8. To remove the insert pillow cover, unhook the J strips on the back of the pillow.

1. Install the pillow cover, if removed, to the insert pillow. Hook the cover J strips on the back side of the insert pillow.
2. Position the insert pillow to the seatback.
3. Fasten the lower J strip.

Important: To achieve the best appearance install the insert pillow tabs under the seatback cover tabs.

4. Attach the insert pillow and seatback cover with fir tree fasteners.

•	Slide the insert pillow tabs and the upper seatback cover tabs over the upper fir tree fastener heads and push the fasteners in to secure.

•	Install new fir tree fasteners through the seatback cover tabs and the insert pillow tabs and push the fasteners into the seatback frame.

5. Zip the insert pillow upper zipper closed.
6. Tuck the zipper ends out of sight into the seat trim.
7. From the back of the seat, ensure the seatback cover is pulled down enough for the J strip at the bottom to rest entirely on the forward side of the seat frame.



8. Install the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Power with Adjuster .
