SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT-CODE 33 NEW P/N MAF POWER RELAY

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986 'F' CAR WITH LB9 ENGINE (ENG. CODE F) 1986 'Y' CAR WITH L98 ENGINE (ENG. CODE 8)

Some 1986 'F' and 'Y' cars with the port fuel engines may experience complaints of service engine soon light and poor driveability. If this condition occurs and a code 33 is found stored in the ECM, the following steps should be taken.

1. Perform diagnostic check for Code 33 found in your 1986 Shop Manual (section 6E3).

2. If Code 33 is intermittent it will be necessary to change the MAF power relay. The MAF power relay new P/N is 10067925.
