The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A complaint of a rattling/squeak noise from the front end has been identified in recent TAC cases. This condition is the result of a "loose" fit between the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and its retainer bracket assembly. The bracket (in front of the UBEC) needs to have foam installed to take up the clearance between itself and the PCM to eliminate the rattling/squeak noise.
It's recommended that you install a small piece of foam on the back of the PCM to help take up the extra clearance.
Note: This foam is NOT specific and you can use the typical one side sticky foam tape and or equivalent. Remember this is to only fill up the excessive clearance.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
