Removal Procedure
- Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
- Position the seat back to the most forward position.
- Unfasten
the J-hook retainer (2) at the bottom of the seat back cover (1).
- Remove the recliner cable from retaining tab the seat cushion frame.
- Remove
enough of the cover in order to gain access to the seat back recliner bolts.
- Remove the seat back recliner bolts.
- Lift upward on the seat back assembly.
This will separate the seat back assembly from the recliners.
Installation Procedure
- Align the seat back assembly to the recliners.
Slide the assembly downward along the recliners until the fastener openings
are aligned.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the seat back recliner bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Reposition
the seat back cover to a desired appearance.
- Route the recliner cable onto the cushion frame.
- Fasten
the J-hook retainer (2) at the bottom of the seat back cover (1).
- Install the bucket seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
- Return the seat back to the original position.
