Water Leak in Trunk - kw body rear seam wet

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment about a water leak in the trunk (rear/right side of vehicle). This condition can be caused by voids in the sealer between the inner and outer sheet metal panels at the bottom seam in the fuel tank filler area just behind the fuel filler door on the rear quarter panel.

Recommendation/Instructions:

To repair this condition, remove the fuel inlet pocket, use Kent Seam Sealer-Clear P/N 10200 to seal any voids between the inner and outer sheet metal panels. Then reinstall the fuel inlet pocket.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
