HARSH 2-1 DOWNSHIFT DELAYED DOWNSHIFT INFORMATION

Model and Year: 1982-83 ALL MODELS WITH THM 700-R4

This cancels and replaces Chevrolet Dealer Service Bulletin 84-43 dated December, 1983 which should be destroyed. This bulletin adds model codes and separate part numbers for 1982 and 1983.

Starting March 25, 1983 (Julian Date 084), all THM 700-R4 transmissions were built using a new control valve assembly and spacer plate to correct a harsh manual 2-1 downshift feel and/or delayed downshift condition.

When servicing any 1982 or 1983 THM 700-R4 transmission for a harsh manual 2-1 downshift feel and/or a delayed downshift, the T.V. limit plug, gasket-(spacer plate to case), gasket-(spacer plate to valve body), and spacer plate, must be replaced to correct this condition.
