  1. Disconnect the connector at the park brake warning switch.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between the park brake warning switch connector cavity A for the CKT 33 (TAN/WHT) and ground.

Is the brake indicator illuminated?

  1. Disconnect the connector at the instrument cluster.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the instrument cluster connector cavity 31 and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 39 (PNK) between the IP fuse block and the instrument cluster. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.

  1. Disconnect the electronic brake control module (EBCM).
  2. Disconnect the park brake warning switch.
  3. Connect a DMM between the instrument cluster connector cavity 17 and then the EBCM connector cavity F and the instrument cluster connector cavity 17 and the park brake warning switch cavity A of the CKT 33 (TAN/WHT).

Is there continuity?

Repair the open in CKT 33 (TAN/WHT) between the instrument cluster and the EBCM or the park brake warning switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.

Is the brake indicator illuminated?

  1. Connect a DMM between the EBCM connector C1 cavity H and ground.
  2. Test for continuity.

Is there continuity?

--

  1. Disconnect connector C1 at the EBCM and the brake pressure warning switch.
  2. Connect a DMM between the EBCM connector C1 cavity H for CKT 680 (PPL) and the brake pressure warning switch cavity A.
  3. Test for continuity.

Is there continuity?

Repair the open in CKT 680 (PPL) between the brake pressure warning switch and the EBCM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.

Is the condition repaired?

  1. Connect a DMM between the brake pressure differential switch connector cavity B for CKT 150 (BLK) and ground.
  2. Test for continuity.

Is there continuity?

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between the brake pressure differential switch and ground G105. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.

Is the brake indicator illuminated?

Replace the brake pressure warning switch. Refer to brake pressure warning switch replacement in 1999 C/K service manual.

Is the condition repaired?
