Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Apply the parking brake.

    3. Object Number: 156454 Size: SH
  3. Remove the master cylinder nuts.
  4. Remove the master cylinder and bracket.
  5. Disconnect the vacuum hose.

    6. Object Number: 156233 Size: SH
  6. Remove the retainer.
  7. Remove the stoplamp switch.
  8. Remove the pushrod.

    9. Object Number: 293518 Size: SH
  9. Remove the four nuts.
  10. Remove the booster assembly.
  11. Remove the gasket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 293518 Size: SH
  1. Install the gasket.
  2. Install the booster assembly.
  3. Install the four nuts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  4. Install the pushrod.
  5. Install the stoplamp switch and retainer.
  6. Install the vacuum hose.
  7. Gauge the booster pushrod. Refer toBrake Booster Push Rod Gauging Procedure (Hydraulic Brake Booster) in Hydraulic Brakes in the 1999 C/K Truck Service Manual.

    8. Object Number: 156454 Size: SH
  8. Install the master cylinder and bracket.
  9. Install the master cylinder nuts.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  10. Release the parking brake.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
