J 41352 Modular Column Holding Fixture

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

1. Install the solenoid bracket (2).
2. Install the 2 washer head screws (1).

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N·m(35  lb  in).

3. Install the interlock solenoid assembly (7).
4. Install the hex washer head screw (6).

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 4 N·m(35  lb  in).

5. Install the ball joint spring (5) to the interlock solenoid assembly (7).
6. Install the cable mounting clip from solenoid bracket (2).
7. Install the cable assembly with ignition switch actuator assembly (4).

Remove the steering column and J 41352 from the vise.
