Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 55498  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel tank filler cap.
  2. Open the air bleed valve on top of the fuel manager/filter in order to release any of the pressure in the fuel supply system.

  3. Object Number: 55513  Size: SH
  4. Remove the mounting bolts that connect the fuel manager/filter to the intake manifold.

  5. Object Number: 55514  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the wiring harnesses and fuel hoses.
  7. Remove the fuel manager/filter by lifting straight up.

  8. Object Number: 55494  Size: SH
  9. Remove the fuel heater threaded nut by turning counter clock wise. Use a hand pressure or a strap wrench in order to remove the fuel heater threaded nut.
  10. Disconnect the fuel heater connector.
  11. Remove the fuel heater from the filter housing.
  12. Clean the fuel heater to housing sealing surfaces.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 55494  Size: SH
  1. Install the cap seal into the filter housing.
  2. Install the fuel heater.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the fuel heater threaded nut.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel heater securely by hand.

  6. Reconnect fuel heater connector.

  7. Object Number: 55514  Size: SH
  8. Position the fuel manager/filter to the intake manifold.

  9. Object Number: 55513  Size: SH
  10. Connect the wiring harnesses and fuel hoses.
  11. Install the mounting bolts that connect the fuel manager/filter to the intake manifold.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  13. Bleed the air from the fuel manager/filter if necessary (Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe and Return Pipe Purging .
