    • The battery may be damaged.
       - Cracked case
       - Corroded battery cable terminals
       - Loose battery cable connections
       - Loose battery hold-down
    • There may be a mechanical problem.
       - Loose or slipping drive belt
       - Structural failure of aftermarket mounting brackets
       - Misaligned pulleys
    • There may be an electrical drain for a vehicle accessory left on overnight or an electrical drain caused by a parasitic load.
    • Driving conditions such as slow average driving speeds for long periods, or short trips, did not allow the battery sufficient time to recharge.
    • The electrical load of the vehicle may be greater than the output of the generator, particularly with the addition of aftermarket equipment.
    • There may be an electrical problem in the charging system.
      • Poor ground circuits
      • Electrical shorts
      • Faulty generator
