Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1706997 Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information in 2005 C/K Truck Service Manual.
  2. Lower the vehicle in order to work through the front wheelhouse opening.
  3. Remove the power steering pump heat shield bolts.
  4. Remove the heat shield from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1706997 Size: SH
  1. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  3. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information in the 2005 C/K Truck Service Manual.
