The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A dealer may encounter a 2006 Avalanche or Suburban with O2 sensor DTCs P0036, P0054, P0056, or P0060.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Inspect the right bank post O2 (catalyst monitoring) sensor wiring harness for chafes on the right frame rail. If the wiring chafe has cut through the insulation, the O2 sensor will need to be replaced. If the O2 sensor is to close to the right frame rail, re-align exhaust to gain as much clearance between the frame rail and the sensor harness as possible. Route the O2 sensor harness so it will not touch the frame rail and evaluate repairs.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
