OUTPUT SHAFT SPEEDO GEAR CLIP HOLE LOCATION 700R4

Beginning in September, 1982, some 700-R4 transmission output shafts will be manufactured with two (.2) speedo clip holes.

To properly install a speedo gear on these shafts, the clip holes must be referenced relative to the yoke spline end of the shaft as follows:

Corvette: Use the hole nearest the end of the shaft.

All Others: Use the hole farthest from the end of the shaft.
