Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement L65

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
3. Remove the surge tank outlet hose from the radiator outlet hose.




Important: Most C/K models use a spring - type clamp at the radiator hose connections. When using this type of clamp, install radiator hoses on dry, non - painted surfaces in order to ensure proper sealing. Reusing the spring - type clamps on aftermarket hoses is not recommended.

4. Remove the clamps.
5. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.
6. Remove the radiator outlet hose form the water pump.

1. Install the radiator outlet hose to the water pump.
2. Install the radiator outlet hose to the radiator.



3. Install the surge tank outlet hose to the radiator outlet hose.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Refill the coolant in the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
6. Start the engine. After the engine reaches normal operating temperature, inspect for coolant leaks.

2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
3. Reposition the hose clamps (4, 6) at the water pump and the radiator.
4. Remove the outlet hose (5) from the water pump and radiator.

1. Install the outlet hose (5) to the water pump and radiator.
2. Position the hose clamps (4, 6) at the water pump and radiator.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
