- Hold the large 1 inch nut on the 2-piece fitting while turning the fittings small 7/8 inch nut to the left (left hand thread).
- Continue to turn the small nut until the small nut bottoms against the actuator nut on one end and the large nut on the other end.
- Install the jamb nut to the 2-piece fitting.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the 2 pieces of the fitting together to 54 N·m
(40 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the jamb nut to 45 N·m (33 lb ft)
while holding the two piece end fitting with a wrench on the 7/8 inch
nut.
