Important: Many internal engine components will develop specific wear patterns on their friction surfaces.

When disassembling the engine, internal components MUST be separated, marked or organized in a way to ensure reinstallation to original location and position.

Separate, mark, or organize the following components:

    â€¢ Piston to the specific cylinder bore
    â€¢ Piston rings to the piston
    â€¢ Connecting rod to the crankshaft journal
    â€¢ Connecting rod to the bearing cap
    â€¢ Crankshaft and connecting rod bearings
    â€¢ Camshaft and valve lifters
    â€¢ Valve lifters, guides, pushrods, pivot supports and rocker arms
    â€¢ Valve to the valve guide
    â€¢ Valve spring and shim to the cylinder head location
    â€¢ Engine block crankshaft bearing cap location and direction
    â€¢ Oil pump drive and driven gears
