in
Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Release the cable (1) retainer from the accelerator pedal lever.
- Remove the accelerator pedal assembly attaching nuts.
- Remove the pedal assembly (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the pedal assembly

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts
to the cowl.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Install the accelerator cable (1) through the slot in the accelerator
pedal assembly (2) and snap into place.

- Inspect for correct opening and closing positions by operating
the accelerator pedal. Ensure that the throttle valve reaches a wide
open throttle (WOT) position. If the throttle
valve does not, inspect for damaged or bent brackets,
levers, or other components. Also inspect for poor carpet fit
under the accelerator pedal.
