Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 407832  Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve harness connector.

  3. Object Number: 407828  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the engine purge pipe from the EVAP canister purge valve.
  5. Disconnect the engine vacuum pipe from the EVAP canister purge valve.

  6. Object Number: 407821  Size: SH
  7. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve mounting bracket attaching bolt.
  8. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve along with the mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 407821  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the EVAP canister purge valve and the attaching bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the EVAP canister purge valve mounting bracket attaching bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  3. Connect the engine vacuum pipe to the EVAP canister purge valve.
  4. Connect the engine purge pipe to the EVAP canister purge valve.

  5. Object Number: 407832  Size: SH
  6. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve harness connector.
  7. Install the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
