Consider all of the following systems when diagnosing a concern
since steering components are interrelated:
First, road test the vehicle in order to avoid using the wrong symptom.
Proceed to the following preliminary tests. Correct any substandard conditions
that you find:
| • | Inspect the joints from the steering column to the steering gear
for one of the following conditions: |
| • | Inspect the power steering system for leaks. |
| • | Inspect the power steering fluid level. |
| • | Inspect the pump drive belt tension. |
| • | Inspect the joints of the intermediate shaft between the steering
column and the gear for the following conditions: |
